Pro-Actors Theatre Program for Children with Autism

Delaware Theatre Company inaugurated the Pro-Actors Program in the summer of 2007 in an effort to meet a community need for arts programming to serve students with autism spectrum disorder. This class meets weekly over a seven-week period to work on creativity, theatre skills, socialization and peer-to-peer interaction. The class culminates in a showcase where students share their newly learned proficiency with an audience. This showcase is presented on the Delaware Theatre Company's main stage and is open to the general public.
